Publication Ethics

Applied Science and Technology on Naval Engineering (ASTNE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This journal follows the principles and Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Submit only original manuscripts that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.
  • Properly acknowledge the work of others through appropriate citations.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
  • Cooperate with the editorial process by responding to reviewers' comments and revising the manuscript when required.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and confidentially.
  • Provide constructive comments to improve the quality of the manuscript.
  • Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical concerns.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest and decline the review if necessary.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit without discrimination.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process.
  • Take appropriate action in cases of suspected research misconduct or publication malpractice.

Research Misconduct

Research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, and unethical research practices, is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts found to violate these principles may be rejected or retracted.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the review, editorial decision, or publication process.

Corrections and Retractions

When significant errors or ethical issues are identified after publication, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions following the recommendations of COPE.
