Peer Review Process

Applied Science and Technology on Naval Engineering (ASTNE) applies a single-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of every submitted manuscript. In this review model, reviewers are aware of the authors' identities, while authors do not know the identities of the reviewers.

Review Procedure

Initial Editorial Screening
The Editorial Office evaluates the manuscript for its scope, formatting, originality, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements.
Similarity Check
Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may decide to:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required
- Reject
Revision
Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments within the specified deadline.
Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on the reviewers' recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.
Copyediting and Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and publication.

Review Duration

The average review process takes approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability, the quality of the submitted manuscript, and the revision process.
