Plagiarism Policy
Informatik: Jurnal Ilmu Komputer applies a strict policy against plagiarism and upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or other equivalent tools. Any submission found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be automatically rejected.
Prior to the peer-review process, authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts have a similarity index of less than 25%, as measured by plagiarism detection tools. Editors reserve the right to conduct additional checks at any stage of the publication process.
Plagiarism is defined as the act of presenting another individual’s ideas, words, or work as one’s own without proper acknowledgment, citation, or permission. This includes, but is not limited to, the following forms:
- Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word, in whole or in part, without appropriate citation or acknowledgment.
- Substantial Plagiarism: Reproducing a significant portion of another work, either in terms of quantity or importance, without proper attribution.
- Paraphrasing without Attribution: Rewriting ideas, statements, or arguments from a source without giving proper credit to the original author. While paraphrasing is acceptable in academic writing, failure to cite the source constitutes plagiarism.
- Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one’s own previously published work, in whole or in part, without proper citation or acknowledgment of the original source.
The editorial board of Informatik: Jurnal Ilmu Komputer emphasizes ethical publishing practices and encourages authors to ensure the originality and authenticity of their submissions. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts and must ensure that all sources are properly cited.
