Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Informatics: Journal of Computer Science undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Manuscripts are accepted for publication only after receiving two favorable recommendations. All published issues are made available online and can be accessed through the Archive section of the journal.
Initial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief to assess its suitability in terms of scope, relevance, and compliance with the journal’s basic submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum criteria are returned to the author within two weeks of submission. Authors may revise the manuscript or submit it to another journal, thereby minimizing unnecessary delays in the publication process.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor, who appoints qualified reviewers based on their expertise in the relevant subject area. The journal applies a single-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of the reviewers are kept anonymous. Reviewers assess manuscripts based on criteria including originality, novelty, clarity, completeness, significance, methodological rigor, scientific contribution, and practical relevance.
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, a manuscript may be classified as Rejected, Revision Required, or Accepted without Revision. Reviewers are expected to complete their assessments within five weeks. The Associate Editor then submits a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief.
Final Decision
The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers’ reports and the recommendation of the Associate Editor. The decision, along with constructive feedback from the reviewers, is communicated to the author. Possible editorial decisions include Accept Submission, Resubmit for Review, Reject, or Decline Submission. Authors of revised manuscripts are required to resubmit their work within two weeks, and revised submissions are typically re-evaluated by the Associate Editor.
