Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a public policy directly related to fulfilling children’s rights to food, health, education, and development. This article analyzes MBG as an instrument for fulfilling children’s rights and public services, and assesses senior high school students’ voices as a legal basis for evaluating its implementation. This study uses a socio-legal or juridical-empirical approach, supported by statutory and conceptual approaches. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires from 103 students, with the analysis focused on 102 students who had received MBG. The data were analyzed descriptively through frequency tabulation, percentages, and mapping based on availability, accessibility, acceptability, quality, food safety, participation, and accountability. The findings show that MBG reduces spending on snacks, provides satiety, and improves access to food at school. However, issues remain regarding taste, menu variety, food waste, container hygiene, food freshness, drowsiness, and complaint channels.
