Copyright Policy

Ius Comparatum: Journal of Law Studies (ICJLS) holds the copyright of every article it publishes. Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and transfer copyright to ICJLS, with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under this license, anyone is free to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) the published article for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original publication in ICJLS, a link to the license is included, and any changes made to the original work are indicated. If the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the resulting work must be distributed under this same CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Authors remain free to enter separate, additional arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work, for example by depositing it in an institutional repository or including it in a book, provided the original publication in ICJLS is acknowledged and the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license are respected.

Before publication, authors are required to provide written confirmation to ensure the originality of the submitted work (Author Statement of Originality). This statement must be signed by at least one author who has obtained the assent of the co-author(s), where applicable.
