Abstract

Flood is a major threat in Aceh Province, especially in areas such as Subulussalam City, which often experience material losses and casualties due to delays in early warning systems. This research aims to develop an environmentally friendly flood warning alarm, with multi-level indicators and voice notifications to increase the effectiveness of flood mitigation. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, including needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and system evaluation. The prototype uses a water level sensor, solar panel, backup battery, multilevel indicator LED, buzzer, and GSM module for notification. The test results show that the system is able to provide accurate and real-time early warnings, continues to operate during power outages, and is easy to operate and maintain. The implementation of this system has the potential to reduce carbon emissions, reduce costs by 40% compared to conventional systems, and increase community preparedness for floods. Flood warning alarm is a sustainable solution in mitigating flood risk and supporting environmental protection.
