This statement outlines the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including authors, chief editors, editorial board members, peer reviewers, and the publisher, the Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (FIKES UPNVJ).
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in the Widya Gantari Indonesia Nursing Journal (JKWI) is managed by a scientific publisher whose performance adheres to ethical standards in research and science. Reviewed articles support and realize the scientific method; therefore, it is important to agree on the expected standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publishing act: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public. The Nursing Study Program FIKES UPNVJ, as the publisher of JKWI, takes its duties of trust for all stages of publication very seriously and recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities. JKWI upholds the values of ethics in publication, namely publication decisions, fairness, confidentiality, honesty, and neutrality.
Publication Decisions
JKWI editors are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by legal requirements in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fairness
Manuscripts will be evaluated and reviewed by editors and reviewers without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors. This is to uphold the publication ethics of JKWI.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Honesty and Neutrality
Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the papers.
