Types of paper

The journal accepts original research papers and theoretical or conceptual papers. The paper should be written in standard English and follow the journal's Author Guidelines.

 How to submit your paper?

The paper must be in Microsoft Word format and must be submitted electronically to the editorial team at the e-journal portal address: https://ejournal.upnvj.ac.id/index.php/JIEFeS/index.

General Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items; submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to the authors.

  1. The paper must discuss the topics of Islamic Economics, Islamic Banking and Finance, Islamic microfinance, Zakah, Waqf, Islamic Philanthropy, or halal economy.
  2. Ensure that the paper follows the journal template.
  3. The paper should be between approximately 5000 and 8000 words, including tables, figures, references, and appendices intended for publication. If deemed necessary or due to considerations of analytical depth, an article may contain up to 10,000 words as the maximum limit.
  4. All submissions should be in Microsoft Word file format.
  5. The paper has never been published or submitted anywhere.
  6. The paper is typed by considering the use of standard English. It should be spell-checked by the facility available, such as Grammarly.
  7. The copyeditor of the Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance Studies is responsible only for minor typos and understandable grammatical errors

Structure of Paper

1. General Structure

The paper should contain an introduction, literature review, method, results, discussion, and conclusion. The editors of the Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance Studies may make any formatting changes to submitted articles before publication to ensure consistency across all published articles without altering their content. 

2. Title

The title of the article should be brief, clear, and informative, and it should identify the content. It should also be no more than 12 words, while each word of the title must be capitalized.

3. Author and Affiliation Name

All submitted papers should be completed in the author/s' full name without any academic title. And it should be accompanied by the author/s' institutions, city, and country of affiliation, and E-mail addresses.

4. Abstract

The abstract should be in one paragraph, written in both English and Indonesian (for Indonesian author/s), and not more than 200 words. It should include a background, purpose, method, results, and implications, with no references cited.

5. Keywords

It is a maximum of 5 keywords in the form of words or phrases that represent the content of the paper. The keywords are separated by a semicolon (;).

6. Introduction

The introduction contains a brief description of the study, including a clear research background, a research problem, and a brief review of relevant literature from previous research to highlight its limitations, the expected goals, and the novelty of the research.

7. Literature Review

It contains a review of previous research and theoretical studies related to the paper's topics, which are used to build the research framework.

8. Research Methods

It contains the research design, population, sample, data collection techniques, and analysis method.

9. Result and Discussion

The article's results include a descriptive data analysis. The discussion presents each finding alongside relevant theories or previous studies, facts, comments, and researchers' reasonable analyses. The use of subchapters in the discussion aligns with its needs. 

10. Figure

Figures should be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, etc.). The caption should be centered and placed under the figure.

11. Tables

Tables should be arranged consecutively (e.g., Table 1, etc.). The caption should be centered in alignment and placed above the Table.

12. Mathematical Formula

Mathematical formulas should be numbered and presented using Microsoft Equation.

13. Conclusion

It contains a conclusion and suggestions. The conclusion briefly illustrates the results that address the hypotheses and/or research purposes or findings. It is a summary of the research and discussion, relevant to the findings, presented descriptively rather than numerically. The suggestion provides activities that are expected to be conducted in relation to the further ideas the research has proposed.
