Publication Ethics

This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice standard.

1. Ethics Guidelines for Journal Publication

It is very important to pay attention to the ethics of publishing a manuscript, this is also stated in Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences. Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences publishes manuscripts resulting from both theoretical and empirical studies from various authoritative sources that can be accounted for. This is important for the development of science to be implemented in the economic development of a country. Thus, a coherent and respected knowledge network needs to be carried out in the Journal publication Ethics Guidelines. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the supporting institutions. Manuscripts in Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Studies are peer-reviewed to support and embody the scientific method. It is then important to agree on the expected standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing, namely authors, journal editors, reviewers, publishers and the public.

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UPN Veteran Jakarta as the publisher of Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences takes its duties of guardianship beyond all stages of publication very seriously and we carry it out with ethics and other responsibilities. UPN Veteran Jakarta Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is committed to ensuring that broadcasting, reprinting or other commercial income has no impact or influence on decisions of an editorial nature.

2.      Publication Decisions

Before publishing both online and in print for Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences, the Chief Editor responsible for publication asked for input from other editors as well as support from reviewers. Where, this is also based on a series of journal publications starting from manuscript submission, editor checking, reviewer checking, layout checking, plagiarism and copyright checking. This is under the supervision of the Chief Editor and other Editors with authority, resulting in publication decisions for manuscripts in Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences.

3.      Non-Discrimination

In each publication process of Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts for their scientific content without relating to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the author. This is done in order to uphold the ethics of publishing Expressions and Perceptions: Journal of Communication Studies namely non-discrimination.

4.      Confidentiality

Manuscripts published in "Expression and Perception: Journal of Communication Sciences" are strictly protected for their information value, where editors and reviewers are not permitted to reveal much information about a manuscript that has been submitted to anyone from the author, reviewer, editorial team, and publisher, but only to those who appropriate and reasonable.

5.      Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript is not necessarily used by many editorial board members and reviewers in their own research.
