Socialization of the Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU) Program as an Effort to Improve Access to Higher Education at RPTRA in East Jakarta

Abstract

Community service is one of the forms of student contribution in connecting academic knowledge with social realities in society. This activity aimed to provide socialization and counseling regarding the Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU) program to the community at an RPTRA in East Jakarta. The implementation method was carried out through socialization sessions, discussions, and question-and-answer activities involving children and mothers from the surrounding community. The results of the activity indicate that there is still limited public understanding regarding access to higher education and government-funded scholarship programs such as KJMU. Through this socialization, the community gained new insights into the importance of higher education and the opportunities available through the KJMU program. In addition, this activity created a space for dialogue between students and the community regarding socio-economic conditions that influence educational decision-making within families.
