Information for Authors
Journal of Information Science in technology is a journal covering topics related to information science, data science, and knowledge management. Information science is an interdisciplinary field concerned with the collection, classification, manipulation, retrieval, management, analysis, and protection of information. Due to digital era, some challenges appear such as misinformation, hate speech, big data management, privacy, etc. The Editors welcome all papers cover this issue on aspect of both social science and technology. The paper must be written in English or Indonesian.
Articles published in Journal of Information Science in technology include:
Review (20 printed pages on average) surveys repre- sentative results and important advances on well-identified topics, with analyses and insightful views on the states of the art and highlights on future research directions.
Research Paper (no more than 15 printed pages) presents new and original results and significant devel- opments in all areas of information sciences for broad readership.
MOOP (Multimedia Open Online Paper, with multime- dia materials) presents novel ideas, original research results, and significant developments in all areas of in- formation sciences for broad readership.
Letter (no more than 3 printed pages) addresses is- sues of general interest with opinions or technical prob- lems of research and development with solutions.
Journal of Information Science in technology is now published under a brand new Continuous Article Publishing (CAP) workflow. That is, articles are published directly on line, together with com- plete publishing information concerning page, issue, volume and DOI.
How to submit
Authors are recommended to use Journal of Information Science in technology online submission services. To submit a manuscript, please go https://ejournal.upnvj.ac.id/jisty/user/register, and follow the instructions there to upload text and image/ table files.
Authors are encouraged to submit such accompanying materials as short statements on the research background and area/subareas and significance of the work, and brief introductions to the first and corresponding authors in- cluding their mailing addresses with post codes, tele- phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. Authors may also suggest several qualified experts (with full names, affiliations, phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses) as referees, and/or request the exclu- sion of some specific individuals from potential referees.
Reviewing policy
All submissions will be reviewed by referees selected by the editorial board. The decision of acceptance or rejec- tion of a manuscript is made by the editorial board based

on the referees’ reports. The entire review process may take 90 days, and the editorial office will inform the author of the decision as soon as the process is completed. If the editorial board fails to make a decision within 90 days, it is up to the authors to decide whether they would withdraw their article and submit it elsewhere.
Authorship
Authors should guarantee that their submitted manuscript has not been published before and has not been submit- ted elsewhere for print or electronic publication consider- ation.
Submission of a manuscript is taken to imply that all the named authors are aware that they are listed as co- authors, and they have agreed on the submitted version of the article. No change in the order of listed authors can be made without an agreement signed by all the authors.
After acceptance
For articles with great breakthrough results, quick publi- cation will be arranged. After typesetting, page proofs are usually sent electronically as e-mail attachments to the corresponding authors. The proofs plus minor corrections must be returned to the managing editor within 3 days. Failure to do this will result in delays in publication. Cor- rections can be noticed in different ways: (1) highlight the corrections and send back the printed proof pages; (2) fax the corrections to the managing editor; (3) highlight the corrections and send back the corrected page proofs as e-mail attachments.

Manuscript format
Contributions are required of a concise, focused account of the findings and reliable essential data. They should be well organized and clearly presented, avoiding exhaustive tables and figures. Authors are advised to use interna- tionally agreed nomenclature, express all measurements in SI units, and quote all the relevant references.
Title: Titles must be limited to 20 words, and should be concise, indexable, and informative for a broad scientific audience. Authors should avoid using colons, questions, nonstandard abbreviations, etc., in titles.
Author(s): Authorship should be limited to those who have contributed substantially to the work.
The order of the authors listed should be agreed by all the coauthors, and all the authors have responsibilities for the published content.
Family names are written in upper case. An e-mail ad- dress of the corresponding author is required.
Author affiliations: The affiliations should be the institu- tions where the work was done. Complete addresses with post codes are required.
Abstract: The abstract is a summary of the content of the manuscript. It should briefly describe the research purpose, methods developed or used, main results, and conclusion. Extremely technical terms, special symbols, figures, tables, chemical structural formula, and equations should be avoided there and citation of references is not allowed.
Keywords: A list of five to eight keywords should follow the abstract. The chosen keywords are required to reflect the theme of the manuscript.
Text: A article should begin with a brief introduction to the problem and the significance of the research. Nomen- clature, symbols, and abbreviations should be defined at their initial appearance. All the figures and tables should be numbered in numerical order.
Introduction: Being the most important part of an article, the introduction should provide relevant information on research background and recent progress, with refer- ences cited in numerical order, present the problem to be solved in the article, and describe briefly the method adopted to solve the problem. The aim of the research should also be mentioned. Subtitle is forbidden in this part and introduction of the article structure is considered un- necessary.
Materials and method: This part should describe clearly the materials used, the method adopted or devel- oped, the experimental procedure followed, and the re- sults obtained by the authors in their work, so as to allow others to repeat the experiments and to make use of the work published.
Discussion and conclusion: Conclusion should be de- rived from the observations and experimental results, and comparison with other relevant results is considered helpful to further proving the results. Repeated data should be avoided, and conclusions and suggestions are required to be clearly expressed. New hypotheses and recommendations may be proposed when warranted.
Figures and tables: Figures and tables should be nu- merically numbered, inserted in the text, and cited in order within the text. The figures should have resolution not lower than 600 dpi and clear lines of 5 px, with symbols and letters in Times New Roman at 8 pt. A space should always be maintained between the variable and the unit.
Equations: Equations should be numerically numbered, with Arabic numbers put on the right-hand side.

The authors may express their thanks to the people who helped for the work, and acknowledge valuable suggestions from the reviewers.
References: Reference citation is regarded as an im- portant indicator of the article quality. If relevant refer- ences, in particular results published within 10 years, are not cited in the article, or most citations are for the author.
