Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

General Provisions

  1. Manuscripts published are original research results.
  2. Manuscripts must contribute scientifically, representing the development of knowledge, and provide useful findings for both the academic community and society in general.
  3. Manuscripts have not been published in other journals.
  4. Manuscripts are not under editorial process in other journals.
  5. Manuscripts should be typed with 1.0 spacing, using Cambria font size 12, on A4 paper.
  6. Manuscripts should be written in English.
  7. Manuscripts should be between 6000 and 8000 words in length. This includes all text, for example, the structured abstract, references, all text in tables, and figures and appendices.
  8. The first page must include the title, abstract, and keywords.
  9. Manuscripts must follow the EKOBIS manuscript template.
  10. The review process uses the double-blind review method. Therefore, authors' names, affiliations, and email addresses should be provided during manuscript submission and metadata entry but should not be included in the article itself.
  11. The review process takes 3-6 months.

  13. Manuscripts must adhere to EKOBIS publication ethics.

Writing Format Explanation

  • Title: The title should be concise, impactful, and reflect the content of the research. It should not exceed 12 words and should avoid generic terms such as "influence."
  • Abstract: Written in both Indonesian and English (for full Indonesian or English manuscripts). The abstract should reflect the content of the article, with a maximum of 250 words. The English abstract should be italicized. It must include elements of logical argumentation, problem-solving approaches, achieved results, and conclusions. The abstract should end with 5-7 keywords separated by semicolons.
  • Introduction: Contains the background of the research, explaining the general context, research questions, and objectives. It should start with a general background of the study, state the art of previous research, and justify the novelty or scientific contribution of the article.
  • Literature Review: Should not be a collection of technical definitions but a detailed narrative of related theories and previous studies. It can end with the development of explicit or implicit research hypotheses.
  • Research Methodology: Should be detailed, including research location, number of respondents, data processing methods, and measurement criteria. Common methods should be referenced rather than detailed.
  • Results: Present data analysis outcomes, key findings, and concise, informative tables summarizing data analysis.
  • Discussion: Analyze and explain the results, comparing them with existing theories or studies, and conclude succinctly.
  • Conclusion: Provide a brief conclusion of the research and its implications, including limitations and recommendations. It should answer the research questions or objectives.
  • Acknowledgement: Optional section for recognizing those who assisted in the research.
  • References: Proper and complete references in accordance with the author guidelines, primarily from scientific journals for quantitative papers or 50% for qualitative papers.

Citation and Reference Guidelines

  1. Use Mendeley for standard citation techniques, both direct and indirect.
  2. Include a minimum of 15 references in the manuscript, with 80% being published articles.
  3. References should be from the last 10 years, with older articles limited to 20% of the total references.
  4. Prefer references from the last 5 years.
  5. References should be indexed in Scopus/Web of Science or SINTA KEMENRISTEKDIKTI (S1 to S6).
  6. Follow the APA citation method, with examples like:
    • Obeidat, S.M., Abdalla, S. and Al Bakri, A.A.K. (2023), "Integrating green human resource management and circular economy to enhance sustainable performance: an empirical study from the Qatari service sector", Employee Relations, Vol. 45 No. 2, pp. 535-563. 
    • Bashir, M. (2023), "The influence of strategic flexibility on SME performance: is business model innovation the missing link?", International Journal of Innovation Science, Vol. 15 No. 5, pp. 799-816.

Table and Figure Guidelines

  1. Tables/Figures/Equations/Models should be concise, clear, and high resolution.
  2. Tables should use horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the table head and below the table body. Additional lines may be used to distinguish table content.
  3. Tables/Figures should be numbered and titled on the same line, not bolded.
  4. Sources should be listed at the bottom left of the table.
  5. Equations/Models should be numbered in parentheses on the right side, separated by a dot.
