Publication Ethics Statement of Abdikom Journal

This statement clarifies the ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in the publication process of manuscripts in Abdikom Journal, managed by Fakultas Ilmu Komputer UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, including authors, editors, and reviewers. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The ethical aspects of manuscript publication are of utmost importance and are strongly upheld by Abdikom Journal. Abdikom Journal publishes theoretical and empirical studies from various credible and accountable sources. Such publications contribute to the advancement of knowledge and its implementation in economic development. Therefore, maintaining a coherent and respected network of scholarly communication requires adherence to publication ethics.

Publication ethics directly reflect the quality of work produced by authors and the institutions supporting them. Manuscripts submitted to Abdikom Journal undergo a peer-review process to support and uphold scientific methods. Consequently, all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and the wider academic community—are expected to comply with established ethical standards.

Publication Decisions

Before publication, either online or in print, the Chief Editor responsible for publication seeks input from other editors and recommendations from reviewers. Publication decisions are based on a sequence of editorial processes, including manuscript submission, editorial screening, peer review, layout review, plagiarism checking, and copyright verification. These processes are supervised by the Chief Editor and authorized editors, leading to the final publication decision for manuscripts submitted to Abdikom Journal.

Non-Discrimination

Throughout the publication process, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts solely based on their scholarly content, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy. This principle reflects Abdikom Journal’s commitment to non-discrimination in publication ethics.

Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information regarding a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial team members, and publisher, as appropriate and necessary.

Unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts must not be used by editors or reviewers for their own research without the explicit written consent of the author.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Reviewers contribute significantly to editorial decisions. Abdikom Journal employs a blind-review process, and reviewer comments are communicated to authors to improve the quality of their research.

Timeliness

Abdikom Journal places great importance on timely publication and communication with authors. Submitted manuscripts are processed according to established procedures and timelines. If a reviewer fails to complete the review within the designated time, the editor may appoint a more suitable reviewer to ensure consistency in the publication schedule.

Confidentiality

Abdikom Journal is managed by UPN "Veteran" Jakarta with the support of qualified editors and reviewers. All submitted manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents. Under the blind-review system, reviewers may discuss manuscript content only with editors and authors when necessary.

Standards of Objectivity

Editors and reviewers are required to evaluate manuscripts objectively according to established standards. Review comments should be respectful toward authors, and reviewers should provide consistent recommendations and decisions to both editors and authors.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. They should ensure that cited references are accurate, current, and properly acknowledged in the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with authors, companies, or institutions associated with the research.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate and informative accounts of their research. The data presented should be supported by reliable references and appropriately documented in the manuscript. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be requested to provide data related to their manuscripts and should make such data available to editors and reviewers in a timely manner. This facilitates manuscript improvement in accordance with the standards of the journal.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If the work or words of others are used, they must be properly cited. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or improper citation practices will be rejected.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Simultaneous submissions are considered unethical and unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources that have significantly influenced their work. All such acknowledgments must be clearly stated in the reference list.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research reported in the manuscript. All listed authors share responsibility for the manuscript and should be informed of the review process. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

If the research involves hazardous chemicals, procedures, equipment, human participants, or animals, authors must clearly identify these aspects in the manuscript.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the publication.
