Ensuring Quality through Rigorous Scholarly Evaluation

Global Komunika: Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly excellence through a structured and impartial blind peer review process. Every manuscript submitted undergoes a systematic assessment to ensure that only research of significant academic value is published.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, manuscripts are reviewed by our editorial team to assess their alignment with the journal’s scope, originality, and adherence to ethical and formatting guidelines. Submissions that meet the criteria are forwarded for peer review, while those that do not may be desk-rejected.

2. Peer Review

Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the process to prevent any bias. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on several dimensions, including:

Theoretical and empirical contribution
Methodological soundness and clarity
Relevance and novelty of findings
Adherence to ethical research standards
Appropriateness of references and citations

3. Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may fall into one of the following categories:

Accept
Minor Revisions
Major Revisions
Reject

Authors are provided with detailed feedback and are given a specific time frame to address any concerns and resubmit, if applicable. All revised manuscripts undergo a secondary review process before final decisions are made.

4. Editorial Decision and Publication

The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who considers both the peer reviewers’ comments and the author’s response. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, and formatting before being published online and indexed.

5. Reviewer Guidelines and Recognition

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining academic standards. We provide clear reviewer guidelines, protect their anonymity, and recognize their contributions through annual certificates, acknowledgment listings, and, if opted-in, integration with Publons.
