ANALISIS PENERAPAN MANAJEMEN RISIKO OLEH KEPALA RUANG DALAM PENCEGAHAN INSIDEN KESELAMATAN PASIEN DI RUMAH SAKIT X JAKARTA

Abstract

Risk management is crucial in every organization, especially in healthcare institutions. However, in Hospital X, many head nurses have not implemented risk management, as indicated by a preliminary study where only 2 out of 10 head nurses had implemented risk management. This study aims to analyze the effect of risk management intervention on the implementation of risk management by head nurses in preventing patient safety incidents at Hospital X. This quantitative research uses a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pre-test post-test design. The sample consists of 140 nurse practitioners and 20 head nurses, divided into intervention and control groups, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using T-test and ANCOVA. There was a significant difference in the intervention group before and after the intervention (p=0.000), while no significant change was found in the control group (p=0.083). The most significant factor influencing risk management and patient safety incident prevention was education level (p=0.021). Proper implementation of risk management intervention can be an effective strategy in preventing hospital patient safety incidents. Recommendation: Hospital management is expected to facilitate training programs for head nurses on risk management and patient safety incident prevention.
