ANALISIS KECENDERUNGAN KONSUMSI MENURUT THORSTEIN VEBLEN PADA EKONOMI MODA TRANSPORTASI PUBLIK MASS RAPID TRANSIT (MRT) KOTA JAKARTA
Abstract

Abstract
Economic institutions shape living standards and levels of comfort that are driven by people's consumption. This research aims to analyze public consumption tendencies towards the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) public transportation mode in the city of Jakarta using Thorstein Veblen's concept approach. This research focuses on four main variables that influence consumption tendencies, namely accessibility, reliability, safety, and the influence of other modes of transportation. The research method used is qualitative through the use of a questionnaire as a survey instrument and quantitative using secondary data indicators in ratio units. The research results show that all variables, including accessibility, safety and the influence of other modes of transportation, have a positive and significant influence on people's consumption tendencies towards the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) public transportation mode in the city of Jakarta. However, the reliability variable, although showing a positive influence, is not statistically significant. These findings indicate that although the reliability of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) public transportation mode in the City of Jakarta is considered important by respondents, it has not yet become the main determining factor in people's consumption tendencies towards the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) public transportation mode in the City of Jakarta. The implication of this research is the importance of the government and transportation operators in improving aspects that influence consumption tendencies, especially in increasing the reliability of MRT services. Apart from that, this research also contributes to the understanding of the factors that influence people's consumption behavior towards public transportation modes, especially in the context of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) public transportation mode in the city of Jakarta.
