Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic finance in supporting sustainable economic development in Indonesia through the instruments of productive zakat, productive waqf, and green sukuk. The research employs a library research method by reviewing academic literature, official institutional reports, and government policy documents related to Islamic finance and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The synthesis indicates that productive zakat plays a role in empowering low-income communities through the strengthening of productive enterprises and the enhancement of economic self-reliance. Productive waqf functions as a long-term social investment that supports the education and health sectors as well as sustainable community economic empowerment. Meanwhile, green sukuk serves as an effective alternative financing instrument for supporting environmentally friendly infrastructure development. However, the optimization of the role of Islamic finance still faces challenges, including low levels of Islamic financial literacy, limited technical regulations, and weak inter-institutional synergy. Therefore, policy strengthening, literacy enhancement, and institutional coordination are necessary to increase the contribution of Islamic finance to sustainable economic development in Indonesia.
